Quilting & Applique Retreat with Instructor Pat Bayard

August 23rd-30th, 2025

Join Pat Bayard this summer for some fun and creativity. Everyone is welcome to join this group of ladies who love to Quilt! Beginners through Advanced skill levels are encouraged.

New participants are always welcome!

9-12am in The House of Trix. Applique project taught by Pat Bayard. We will be making a applique square around 8x8 inches background with a flower design. 

Continue after lunch:  1-4pm several small sewing project  taught by Eileen Farren 

Monday & Tuesday: Fabric reusable grocery bag 

Wednesday: Key ring/fob 

Thursday: Pillowcase 

Friday: Bookmark 

Cost for our classes is free but if anyone wants to donate some money for the materials, that would be appreciated. 

Monday AM & PM: Getting printed direction for the projects. 

Picking out the materials you will need for the projects (unless using kits). Setting up machines, especially for afternoon projects. 

Tuesday AM & PM: Start the Applique project and continue finishing the grocery bag. 

Wednesday AM: Continue the Applique stitching on your project. If needed will be getting one on one instructions on how to do the Applique stitching by Pat PM: Construct an easy fabric keyfob with optional chap stick holder 

Thursday AM: Continue sewing on your project.  PM: Sew a fantastic pillowcase. These  make great gifts for kids or adults. 

Friday AM: Continue sewing and hope to finish, but if not can be finished at home. PM: Sew a cute bookmark; can be done by machine or by hand and can add touches of embroidery. 

If not interested in our projects that's okay too. Bring unfinished projects if you just want to work on them. If any question on your project we can help you answer them. 


Patricia Bayard - Fabric art.  As an applique', quilting artisan for over twenty eight years, Pat has participated in a number of quilt shows and is best known for her applique' of birds and nature scenes, which feature her own designs.  She has been involved in programming and teaching in area applique' groups, as well as creating quilts for raffle in order to raise money to service the community through her involvement in two quilt guilds. Pat has been teaching quilting and applique' at Wiawaka Holiday House for twenty six years, using her own designs. She is self taught in her art background, using pastels, watercolors and pen and ink. Her talent with color is translated well through her choice of color and value in her quilting projects.
