Allie is a long term yoga teacher and meditation practitioner, certified yoga therapist and psychotherapist. She has taught for years at Canyon Ranch and Kripalu. She is a published poet and commissioned author and continues working with groups and individuals locally and globally.

Yoga on the Dock with Beth

Back each summer by popular demand, Beth is celebrating her 10th year teaching yoga on our dock this summer. 

Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned yogi, Beth will make the class accessible and enjoyable. Her goal is to make you feel better than when you came in: physically, mentally and emotionally. She aims to do this by applying over 20 years of teaching experience alongside her wisdom and humor so that you will gain perspective, acceptance and that illusive peaceful mind that comes from practicing yoga.  

Show up with water, an open mind and heart. Bring your mat and 2 blocks if you own them, or use ours as our guests.

Yoga Classes with Cat!

Chair Yoga and Qi Gong

Join Cat for  yoga using a chair for support. We will do both seated and standing yoga poses to increase our strength , balance and flexibility. 

This will be followed by gentle Qi gong. Qi gong consists of gentle movements to help with increasing your energy and improving immunity  and emotional well being . It allows us to release what is not serving us so we can access more ease in our body and mind . A guided meditation will end this practice . All Yoga levels are welcome as this practice is adaptable according to your comfort.

Mindful Movement Sampler

Join Cat for some gentle yoga both seated on the mat and standing poses followed by Qi gong . Qi gong consists of gentle movements to help with increasing your energy and helping with improving immunity and emotional well-being . It allows us to release what is not serving us so we can access more ease in our body and mind . This yoga practice is accessible to all levels and can be adapted according to your needs .

Cat has been working as a social worker for the past 3 decades with a wide range of individuals, groups and family systems. Her own practice of yoga, Qi Gong, meditation and breath work has deeply influenced how she lives and how she works with others. Cat has been integrating mind-body practices into her clinical social work and life coaching for many years and helps others to utilize coherent breathing, gentle yoga and Qi gong to help regulate their nervous system and develop powerful tools for stress management.

Healthy Boundaries and Self Care

Learn ways to set healthy boundaries with others AND with yourself so you can prioritize your well being and allow yourself the time to rest and renew your energy . As women we often put the care of others in front of our own well being . We can sometimes think we are being selfish if we put ourselves first. Together, we will discuss ways to find more balance in our lives, and set intentions and practical ideas for self-care strategies .

Bring your journal!!!! And join me for yoga right after our workshop, where we can learn to embody what compassionate self care feels like ! Yoga poses are adaptable according to your ability and all levels are welcome.

Gentle Yoga, and Loving Kindness Meditation

Join Cat for a gentle yoga class where we will focus on stretching and releasing tension in the body as well as working on some strength and balance in standing poses. We will end our practice with a loving kindness meditation  to practice being in the moment, and offering ourselves the intention of kindness and an open heart. Yoga poses are adaptable according to your ability, and all levels are welcome.

Sunset Yoga on the Dock 

Friday, July 5th and August 16th

Compassionate teacher, Pam Medina, E-RYT 500, owns The Yoga Lily, a yoga teacher trainer, author, earth-loving goddess, drummer, and giver of song. She thrives by helping women find and feel connected to their True Soul, which is innately one with the universe. Stretching out and loosening up, we release tension and pressure in our bodies and minds. Letting go, we come to the present moment in our hearts amidst the nourishing water and robust mountains. Meditating, we absorb the harmonious colors of the sunset. Relaxing, we soften into the abundant life force naturally existing within and around us. The class includes yoga poses, breathwork, meditation, and yoga nidra. Recommended Props: Yoga Mat, 2 Yoga Blocks, and 1 Blanket or large towel. 75 minutes. (Wiawaka has extra mats and blocks.)
