Description: Begin with breathwork focused on grounding and connecting to the earth. Visualize the elements (earth, water, air, fire) as you breathe. Afterward, paint a landscape or abstract representation of your favorite natural element, expressing how it feels to be in harmony with nature.

Gratitude Glow
Theme: Gratitude
Description: Focus on breathwork that brings awareness to the things you’re grateful for. As you inhale, visualize those blessings expanding in your heart. Paint symbols or images that represent your gratitude, allowing the colors to flow freely as you express joy and appreciation.

Dreams from the Lily Gardens
Theme: Freedom and Creativity
Description: Engage in breathwork that inspires creativity and free expression. Visualize yourself in a field of Lily's, each representing different aspects of your creative spirit. Create an intuitive painting of Lily's that symbolizes your unique creative voice and freedom. We will paint near the Lily Garden if weather permits, as they are all in bloom this week!

Theme: Abundance
Description: Use breathwork to open yourself to the flow of abundance in your life. Visualize streams of golden light representing prosperity and opportunities. Afterward, paint a representation of abundance, using vibrant colors and dynamic shapes to capture the essence of plenty.

Theme: Inner Peace
Description: Engage in breathwork that fosters calm and tranquility. Visualize a serene oasis, a personal retreat where you feel at peace. After the session, create an intuitive painting of your oasis, using soft colors and flowing forms to reflect your inner calm.

Description: Focus on breathwork that supports transformation and change. Visualize shedding old layers and emerging anew. Paint a piece that reflects your transformation journey, incorporating elements like butterflies, phoenixes, or other symbols of renewal.

Description: Use breathwork to cultivate self-compassion and acceptance. As you breathe deeply, visualize a flower blossoming inside you. Transfer this energy to the canvas by painting flowers that represent your journey of self-love, incorporating colors and shapes that resonate with your inner growth.

Theme: Universal Connection
Description: Focus on breathwork that connects you to the universe and the energy around you. Visualize the interconnectedness of all beings. Paint an abstract representation of this connection, using swirling colors and shapes that embody unity and harmony.

Yoga Classes with Cat!

Mindful Movement Sampler. Mat Yoga, Qi Gong , and walking meditation.
Join Cat for yoga using a chair for support. We will do both seated and standing yoga poses to increase our strength , balance and flexibility. This will be followed by gentle Qi gong. Qi gong consists of gentle movements to help with increasing your energy and improving immunity and emotional well being . It allows us to release what is not serving us so we can access more ease in our body and mind . A guided meditation will end this practice . All Yoga levels are welcome as this practice is adaptable according to your comfort.

Chair yoga and guided meditation
Join Cat for yoga using a chair for support. We will do both seated and standing yoga poses to increase our strength, balance and flexibility. we will focus on stretching and releasing tension in the body as well as working on some strength and balance in standing poses. We will end our practice with a loving kindness meditation to practice being in the moment, and offering ourselves the intention of kindness and an open heart.

Cat has been working as a social worker for the past 3 decades with a wide range of individuals, groups and family systems. Her own practice of yoga, Qi Gong, meditation and breath work has deeply influenced how she lives and how she works with others. Cat has been integrating mind-body practices into her clinical social work and life coaching for many years and helps others to utilize coherent breathing, gentle yoga and Qi gong to help regulate their nervous system and develop powerful tools for stress management.

Gentle yoga and loving kindness meditation

Soundbath Meditation with Robin Jay
Participants will lie on yoga mats or recline in chairs and be guided in meditation that includes the soothing sounds of crystal and Tibetan bowls, chimes, tuning forks and other instruments. Each meditation will focus on a chakra with the intent to balance our internal energy centers for improved health and joy.
Robin is a retired educator, a Reiki master teacher, and certified in sound healing.

Monday Morning Qoya with Stephanie

Qoya is a movement practice designed to help individuals reconnect with their bodies through self-expression, embodiment, and a sense of inner freedom. The practice blends elements of dance, yoga, and sensual movement to encourage participants to explore their bodies without judgment or restriction. Qoya, which means “queen” in Quechua, is rooted in the belief that through movement, we can access our inner wisdom, creativity, and power.
The movement is structured around three main principles:
1. Wise – Connecting with the inner wisdom that resides within.
2. Wild – Embracing freedom, joy, and uninhibited movement.
3. Free – Liberating oneself from societal constraints, embracing personal expression.
Reveling in the pleasure of our own body through feminine sensual moment.
Qoya classes typically involve guided movement and dance that allows individuals to explore different ways of moving and expressing themselves. It’s a practice that emphasizes feeling rather than achieving, and is often described as a spiritual and healing journey. It’s not about how it looks.
It is open to people of all levels, with the intention to celebrate the body, its innate intelligence, and its capacity for movement of energy and expression. There’s no way to do Qoya wrong. Experience experimenting with feeling more aligned and true- more YOU!

Meditation and Mindfulness with Haiku

Break for lunch 12pm-1pm
Cost of day workshop including lunch is $50
This unique workshop will encompass components of Meditation and Mindfulness using Haiku poetry. NO experience necessary in any of these components! Actually, I will give everyone the experience of starting fresh, and perhaps discovering something new along the way. I will provide brief instructions and gentle guiding through the experiences, allowing “you to be You” in the moment without assumptions, allowing you to experience the essence of moments, your space, your thoughts. This workshop is about being Present, and empowering yourself with playfulness and experience the power of words. Be prepared to be immersed in your day at beautiful Wiawaka; a place of connection creativity and calm. There will be time for lunch as well as some time to enjoy the facility as you would like. At the end of the day you just might be surprised at yourself for what you produce, or how you feel! It is my hope that you leave with more than you came with after your day.
Pamela Friers is a certified teacher and has taught locally for many years as an English teacher and writing instructor in both public schools and community college. She is a certified Reiki Master of Usui Holy Fire III and Karuna Holy Fire III Reiki, practicing since 2010. She is published as a poet and has written articles for the International Reiki News Magazine. Retired from public teaching, Pamela continues to write and is working on several projects, combining her love of writing, Reiki, and mindfulness. This is her first workshop at Wiawaka. She has lived in the Glens Falls region all her life.
