We have safely closed for our season. Thank you to everyone who visited Wiawaka following our safety protocols, enjoying our serene and peaceful property, and helping to preserve our history.
Wiawaka Center for Women enriches, inspires and celebrates the growth of women through unique and relevant programming at a natural and peaceful setting.
Wiawaka Center for Women is a 501(c)3 charitable organization dedicated to enriching the lives of women. We do charge for overnight accommodations, meals, workshops and events however much of our programming and operations is funded through donations.
If you itemize your deductions, the new law allows for cash contributions to be deducted up to 100% of your adjusted gross income for the 2020 calendar year. We encourage you to check with your accountant about this provision.
This summer has been a financial challenge for us. We opened safely following all the required safety protocols and continue to remain committed to our safety pledge for our guests and staff. However, Covid- 19 has impacted us financially. We haven’t been able to have any of our fundraising events and we have had to postpone and/or cancel many of our private events, workshops and programs.
Our largest fundraising event, the Ladies of the Lake Luncheon has been cancelled until next June 14th, 2021 and we are hopeful that 2021 will be a safer and healthier time for everyone.
It is notable that even through these tough times, we have so much to be proud of. We have not turned away any scholarship request from a women in need wanting to come to Wiawaka. We are proud that we are still the oldest continuously operating women’s retreat in the country. We are proud that many women have come to Wiawaka this summer after being isolated for many months. We are proud that Wiawaka has continued to maintain our mission in addition to being a place of peace, respite, rejuvenation and empowerment even during a pandemic.
We have over 3,000 dedicated followers and if everyone would donate at least $25 it would make a huge impact to help us offset the monies we would have raised. This will help us do the necessary annual repairs, maintenance and restoration that our beautiful historic buildings require.
Please consider making a donation today. You will be preserving our historic property and treasured gem that is located on the shores of Lake George as we look forward to our 118th season in 2021.
Wiawaka is closely monitoring the daily COVID 19 updates with our federal, state and local agencies. The health and safety of our guests, staff and volunteers is paramount and is the first priority in all of our decisions. Our safety protocols are in accordance with the CDC, Department of Health, the State of New York and the Warren County Economic Recovery Team. Our housekeeping staff has trained in sanitizing and UV certification.
Thank You to our Amazing Wiawaka Team as we have passed our Department of Health Inspections with flying colors!
We are hopeful for a healthier 2021. Call the front desk (option 1) to make your reservations today and to check for availability. We are taking reservations and would love to have you join us in 2021!
