As the caretaker at Wiawaka, my mission for the past 25 years has been to honor the history of this enchanting place. From the trees that have witnessed years of growth to majestic Lake George providing the most beautiful backdrop, I am committed to preserving the essence of this retreat. My role encompasses more than just maintenance, groundskeeping, and safety; it's about nurturing an environment where our guests can find peace and make connections with others.

My father began his career as a caretaker when I was a young boy and instilled a love of land and water stewardship. I grew up on camp properties beginning at the age of six so it is safe to say caretaking is in my blood. My caretaking journey began at Crossett Lake Scout Reservation, a Scout camp in Fort Ann, NY where I worked in this role for six years. In addition to my role as a caretaker, I retired from a career in the propane gas industry after 38 years of service. I am also a veteran having served four years in the United States Air Force.

My history as a caretaker is a tapestry woven with the stories of those who have spent their summers on the property. From hosting bbqs to performing my favorite skit, Bory Stook to entertain guests while gathered around a campfire, I enjoy my work at Wiawaka. All of the stories, memories, and experiences contribute to the rich legacy of Wiawaka and I am honored to be part of this ongoing narrative of such a historic property.

Beyond the daily tasks, you'll find me enjoying time on my boat, making maple syrup, and spending time with the love of my life Kathy, my two daughters, and grandchildren as well as my family and friends. I am thankful for the love and laughter in my life and for the unique opportunity to be a part of Wiawaka’s history.
