I am writing from my second favorite place - Brookgreen Gardens in South Carolina.  I’m gardening and waiting out the winter months until April.  Then begins my 21st year as gardener at Wiawaka, my favorite.  What do I love about our very special place?

Early morning bird songs
Delicious breakfasts (and lunches and dinners).
Watching and helping plants grow, bloom and change through the seasons
Hands in the soil!
Changing moods of the lake, water lapping on the shore, a swim after a hot day
Fresh produce from the veggie and herb gardens
Smiling faces, friendly greetings, sharing thoughts and feelings
Our wonderful, helpful staff
Music, lectures, history
And the spiritual peace that inhabits everything at Wiawaka
