The morning session sheds light upon Ayurveda, the 5,0000 year old traditional medicine from India that teaches us to know who we are, what is appropriate for our bodies and our relationship to the five elements of nature. By understanding our doshas (unique constitution) and how to care for them we can improve health and general wellbeing in mind, body and spirit. The afternoon session offers the opportunity to participate in dinacharya (lifestyle) practices of self-care, Divine Sleep®Yoga Nidra, and the preparation of herbal remedies. I invite you to come and explore Ayurveda, The Science of Life.
Upon retirement as a NY State teacher with 35 years of General and Special Education experience in 2012 I went to Kripalu in Stockbridge, Massachusetts for a R and R weekend. It was there Ayurveda found me and I began my current journey as a lifelong learner of this 5,000 year-old Science of Life. Today I combine my background in education with the teachings of Ayurveda and Sister Science Yoga to offer classes on a variety of Ayurvedic topics at SUNY Adirondack Continuing Ed, local venues, schools, retreats at Wiawaka and in the Lake George area. I feel passionate about helping children, teens and adults achieve health and wellness by understanding their individual constitution, relationship with the environment, diet and lifestyle. Through this knowledge one can develop and maintain a balance of mind, body and spirit.
