After the busy shopping days of Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday comes #givingtuesday, a time to think of making a donation to non-profit organizations. Wiawaka has set a goal of $500 to be raised on #givingtuesday!
Why donate? Wiawaka is the oldest continually running women’s retreat center in the country and offers a restorative and unique experience for all women. Though unique and relevant programming, individual and group retreats, community events and relaxation opportunity Wiawaka meets the needs of today’s woman. Our guests leave feeling refreshed and ready to take on the many duties they face in their everyday life. Many of our programs also address specific groups including mothers who lost a child, female veterans, cancer survivors, caregivers, overworked professionals, women in need, widows, and those battling illness.
Wiawaka is an historic property, with buildings that are listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. It is a big undertaking to keep up with the maintenance required to preserve such a large historic site. Not only is there much upkeep to do but efforts to expand and update our existing space is also a great need.
